Whenever we start with our careers we remain a bit hesitant about the choices we make. We have fear of failure i.e. fear of not finding a job, fear of not finding a good Salary Package, etc.  All of this affects us and our personality to a great extent. Living a life with constant fear of getting a job which doesn’t help your professional growth or keeps you staged at a certain point, leaving individuals helpless and highly frustrated.

After completion of my Bachelor’s degree I got hired as a desktop engineer in some IT Company. Getting a job immediately after completing Btech was a big pat on my back but the Salary package that was offered to me was not at all decent. Working as a desktop engineer couldn’t offer me much of career growth and learning opportunities were close to nothing. My job had become quite stagnant and salary package also remained constant. I couldn’t get that wow factor while working and that feeling of satisfaction couldn’t be achieved. Hence I decided to leave the job and do something much more innovative and something which could give me inner satisfaction along with growing career prospects. Being a student with an engineering background I had fair amount of knowledge about the various fields and jobs available in the related industries. I gradually got interested in Networking domain and its related tracks wanting to make my career in it. After searching online I got to know about various Networking related tracks available and various institutes offering trainings for the same. But Network Bulls was one Cisco Training Institute which had great reputation in terms of imparting Quality Training to its apprentices along with highly and frequently updated Labs which were available 24x7 i.e. day and night. Finally I visited NB and had a counseling session with their team of counselors who told me about the various tracks which were available in Networking Domain.  NB Team suggested me to take up CCIE Security course as it was the most desired and prestigious courses of all.

After giving a deep thought to it I finally joined Network Bulls for acquiring Quality Training on CCIE Security course gaining in depth knowledge and hands-on practical training leading to professional elevation. The training for CCIE Security Course lasted for 9 months and in those nine months my theoretical and practical skills were sharpened from start to finish. After clearing my CCIE Security Written Exam I got placed in Dimension Data as a Network Security Engineer with a Salary Package of 5 lpa. I was more than happy when I got placed at Dimension Data even before I could pass my CCIE Security Lab Exam.

Once I had started working at Dimension Data numerous opportunities were offered to me which helped me grow as an individual in terms of my work and knowledge, my work was appreciated by my seniors and my managers as I was an upholder of numerous concepts which many of my seniors weren’t. Knowledge about various technologies like IPS, VPN, and FIREWALLS significantly helped me grow broadening my chances of job enrichment and promotion. All of this just for a simple reason which was my training in CCIE Security. After working for some time at Dimension Data I had managed to save a generous amount of money which I utilized while preparing for my CCIE Security Lab exam. So I joined the weekend batch at Network Bulls which effectively and positively helped me in clearing my CCIE Security Lab Exam. Interestingly, Cisco had updated the CCIE Security Version from Version 3 to Version 4 in 2012 itself and coincidently I was the first student from NB who was giving the latest CCIE Security V4 Lab Exam.

Before giving my lab exam I was quite nervous and scared , thinking whether I will be able to clear my Lab Exam in the first attempt or not. Fortunately Mr. Vikas Kumar (3xCCIE #30078) and Mr. Baldev Singh eased out my anxiety and Mr. Gaurav Lamba (CCIE Sec. #37287) infused me with oodles of confidence, giving me various tips about how to crack the CCIE Security Lab Exam in very first attempt. I had booked my lab exam for CCIE Security at Bangalore and cleared it in the very first attempt. After successful completion of my Lab Exam I got promoted to a better designation than before along with a good hike in my Salary Package. I knew I could get a better Salary Package if I would have switched to some other company but the amount of respect I got in my current company after clearing my CCIE Security Lab Exam was highly motivating and it kept me rooted and dedicated towards my company Dimension Data.

Many people believe in myth which says that Networking Domain doesn’t offer sufficient Job Opportunities or good Salary Packages which keep individuals confined to typical job prospects. Contrary to this numerous jobs are available in the Networking Industry with brilliant scope of growth. Apart from superb job opportunities vivid salary packages are also offered in abundance to Network Engineers, Network Security engineers as compared to typical engineers in the IT Industry. People normally are very confused regarding the demand and scope of CCIE Security; some say it doesn’t have much of scope while others say it does. One should always research, discuss and then jump to any conclusion. Always take advice from people who already have done the CCIE course. Many of my batch mates who were pursuing CCIE course from Network Bulls completed their CCIE Written Exam first, worked for some time in some company and earned for the Lab Exam, gave my lab exam and successfully cleared it. I being a CCIE Security certified engineer recommend freshers to go for CCIE Security with eyes closed. In CCIE Security integrated course one gets to learn about Network implementation along with Network Security which is best part of this course. Companies prefer CCIE Security engineers because of their unique combination of Routing Switching with Security. Freshers can pursue CCIE; one can go in for any CCIE track i.e. R&S, Security or Voice. CCIE SP and DC should only be taken after some experience in the related genre.
